Truth About Energy Healing, Light, and the Body, Mind, Emotion Connection (Part 2 of a Series)

Let There Be Light!  Take your finger and put it on your forehead between the eyebrow area. Deeper inside this area in your head is a gland called the pineal gland. (Eastern culture calls this area the third eye.) This little wonder creates the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin. Serotonin is sort of the feel good neurotransmitter. It helps to regulate mood, sexual desire, digestion, memory and sleep. Melatonin helps with the sleep and waking cycles within your body. Without balanced quantities of these amazing little guys, our bodies get out of whack. We can become depressed, not sleep right, have memory issues and more. For such a little gland, the pineal gland carries a lot of importance, and guess what? It is benefited by SUNLIGHT. Taking in natural sunlight into the eyes is very important because this helps stimulate this amazing little gland, and will benefit the brain and mood. I read once that the pineal gland has some similar tissues as the retina of the eyes. Basically without natural sunlight we are not balanced, …

A Lesson from the Cross We Don’t Always Think About

Easter weekend always brings a sense of spring, good weather, celebration, family, and food. Alright, these days sometimes the weather is not all the greatest around. But Easter brings up thoughts of chocolate, hard boiled and dyed eggs, leg of lamb and family gatherings. In the Christian church the focus is on Jesus, the cross, His sacrifice, His rising, and His love. In a time of celebration, the church has been lifting up Jesus every year for centuries for His acceptance of an experience that has gone down in history as one of the most profound acts of sacrificial love ever known to humankind. I have been so contemplative recently, as I meditated on the cross and what Jesus endured that day on Calvary’s mountain. I let my mind wander to the scene in the garden when Jesus prayed, sweat and cried, with blood, and anguish. He knew He was going to be crucified. Did He want this? Who would? We know He did not in his words, “Father please take this cup from me.” …

Love’s Truth

Along life’s path we all experience so many different feelings and facets of what love might be. It’s like it is segmented into pieces that we, as humans, can somehow understand. Maybe the full depth of it is so overwhelming that slicing it up like pieces of warm apple pie is the only way we can handle its implications. So, we segment, and find places in our lives where different facets of love belong. Of course, there is infatuation; the facet of love that is most confusing. We are meant to be infatuated with others. It is how deeper love can begin, or not. Infatuation is like a mini suburb of love. It takes what is seen and sensed on the outside and makes us feel all dizzy, dancing and emotionally almost high. In truth, infatuation causes changes in the brain that create a certain natural high that many of us mistake for love which is meant to be deeper.  Then there is dedication love. There might not be a dizzy dancing feeling but there …

Here is Your Weekly Wisdom: Rise Above!

We were all born into this world as a blank slate. What a miracle we truly are! Yet, we are taught and affected by the society around us all of the time. Our minds, hearts, souls, and lives, take on the reflection of a changed person. The depth of our personality and what we present back to the world can be drastically damaged by the negativity around us. We are never doomed though! That is the good news! We CAN rise above that negativity and decide to be a different mirror to those around us. This very moment, YOU can do as Jesus did when He walked this earth. He rose above the negativity and discord of society as our example. You can do the same exact thing and BE the embodiment of God on this planet and to those around you! Jesus taught us to be meek, forgiving, loving, and move to the depth of ourselves. Today, rise above the negative talk in your mind, heart, and those around you. Turn it around …

Transitional Periods Should Be a Time of Rest and Peaceful Waters

Transition is as faithful as God is faithful. If there is no transition then there is no growth, gain in wisdom, or gain in strength. I often call them new seasons but right now transition seems more appropriate. Taking the emotion out of the upheaval is the harder part. We struggle under the pressure of new things almost seemingly forced upon us. With tender hearts and sometimes our tail between our legs we venture into what feels like the unknown. God is giving us an opportunity to trust during these times. Its easy to have faith when things are seen but having faith in the unseen is a bit harder, especially when life feels less secure. I think transitional prayer should be a “thing”. Its probably one of the more important times for prayer. God listens from the inside out and knows our dreams, our fears, and our sorrows. He counts our tears, and beckons us to become stronger. Ultimately, if we place our heart in His hands we will be stronger for it. God …

Loving Yourself While Loving God

You were not meant to be a sacrificial lamb but one who holds onto the lamb who died to give you an abundant life. God never called you to sacrifice but to love yourself so that you can love others in return. Learn a lesson from this teaching about staying in integrity to that love. Let your “yes” stay a yes and your “no” to remain a no when it comes to virtue, morality, and Christ light. Watch!   Love you from here, Dr. Jenine Marie Howry
