People Marveled at Jesus’ Ability to “Know”. Do You Want to Experience Mystical Things?

“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” John 4:29 The biblical account of the Samaritan woman was only one example of how people in Jesus’ day were absolutely amazed by His ability to know things. Throngs of people followed after Him just to see what He would do next. Would He heal the blind or deliver someone from demonic oppression? People have not changed much over the centuries. We love the mystical and to witness the ability to know things. The church is mystical and people are mystical. If this is true, then why are we so hesitant when the mystical appears, and so quick to judge the experience? I agree, we need a sense of discernment when it comes to mystical experiences. Yet, often I feel that there is a sense of pushing away that which is a sign from God because our discernment is out to lunch. God is mystical and mysterious. The bible tells us that even Holy Spirit will lead us into …

Are You a Fraction of Yourself?

I would hate to be laying in that space between this life and mortal death with deep regrets over all of the things I wish I had explored in this life, but did not. Every now and then I think of this. Would I regret some of my choices or lack of choices? I wonder what I might of done or been but did not think myself worthy, or did not take the time. I even wonder more if I would have missed the boat on something special because others did not approve of what I was becoming, believing, or doing. Remember that old quote “To thine own self be true?” Have you even asked your “self” what it wants or desires right now? Or have you asked and know what it is but are afraid to pursue it? We can always look outside of ourselves at others and see the things they “are” or “do” and think, “I would love to do that!” But, is it something that truly can belong to you? Does …

Honor Your Time of Going Within: The Winter Seasons

Along with winter comes the desire and need to cover up from what is outside of us. We layer on extra protection, keeping us safe and warm. Winter challenges us to warm ourselves from the inside out. We have the opportunity to work on our inner guidance, direction, and issues that keep us stuck. Without the winter and inner work, we become bitter from the cold. Warmth on the inside gives us the promise of tomorrow and a new season that approaches where our new seeds can be planted in order to provide new growth. The type of seeds we will plant is decided in the winter though. As we work through our inner selves and new ideas, our inspiration is to decide what new seeds we shall soon plant. Will this be a new book project, a resolution of some sort, a passing of sorrow or leading into a new filled joy? Along with every season, winter must come just as the others. We are not the same without its coldness, the need to …
