Am I Willing to Do ANYTHING to Create “Serenity”?

This is the question I have been asking myself over the last few months. I see Serenity as a place of spiritual growth, healing, and a place to bring the messages of God. Every day this vision grows bigger in me to the point of wanting to burst. I see Serenity as a place to teach God’s ways, a place of counseling and even holistic healing. Serenity is partially non profit and yet partially my business practice within it as well. Can I create this the way God and I have envisioned? So far, my blog, my Youtube channel, and some other things I am using to attempt to raise some funds are the things I am working on. These things are great but they are not doing the whole job. What I am considering is a GoFundMe (crowd funding)  or some other contribution/donation campaign in order to begin the process of the non profit end of it all. Serenity keeps haunting my mind and my visions. There is a no fee aspect of GoFundMe …

“Life Can Turn On a Dime”

For something to “turn on a dime” actually refers to a vehicle or something turning quickly without expectation and with precision. When we apply this to life, it has come to refer to a sudden shift in direction without notice or warning. I think it was at least a decade ago, or more, I received a late call from a woman I had never spoken to before. She must have seen my advertising for my counseling/coaching office and desperately needed to talk. I sat on the floor on the phone next to my bed just listening as she sobbed and explained how her husband had come to her all of a sudden and told her he had been seeing someone else. He not only wanted a divorce but he gave her papers that explained he had wanted her to move out of the house they had lived together in for almost 25 years. She was in her late 50’s and could not imagine what she would do with her life now. The next morning, we …

Benefits of Castor Oil! Did you know…?

In my quest to find the most natural ways of healing and good health, I stumbled upon the benefits of castor oil. Castor oil comes from an extraction of the beans of a plant, or Ricinus communes, otherwise also referred to as Palma Christi (the palm of Christ). Castor oil was highlighted for its healing properties by the late Edgar Cayce. Edgar Cayce was fondly referred to as “the sleeping prophet”. Once used by the ancient Egyptians for its healing properties, castor oil has shown it can be of benefit for many other reasons as well. Here is a quick list of the benefits of castor oil. (Then I will give you my experience)! Natural anti-inflammatory – arthritis and puffiness around the eyes, swelling. If taken internally, remember it is a powerful laxative! Castor oil packs can be used for painful joints and arthritis. Natural anti-fungal – dental use to remove candida build up around tooth roots that cause infection and decay, and also for candida build up in the stomach Good for hair and scalp. …

Ever Wonder What Your “Self” Is?

I recall a pivotal moment when I heard the expression, “Out of all the things you miss in life, do you miss your mind the most?” I’m not sure who first said that, but I would certainly give credit if I could. I only know it was years ago now and I had to stop and think about it. Do I miss my mind, and what does that really mean? If my mind is missing, does that mean I am out of my mind? So many questions, so little time, right? More confusion came lately as I began to study for my doctorate. I was reading books faster than a speeding bullet and I am pretty sure I broke the sound barrier one night. Several books later and probably about a pound of pretzels, I found myself getting real irritated. All I kept reading about was the “self”. Old adages came back to my brain, “Be true to yourself,” Be real with yourself,” Be kind to yourself.” I could feel my eye brows taking the …

A Place Called “Serenity”

It’s a little past 4 am and I am up, awake, and creating a blog post. I just ate my third chocolate donut that I’ve devoured in the last 24 hours; something I just swore I would not do any more. You know, eat donuts. I had spent the day before driving to another nearby city, through the hills, flat lands, and pastures where cows were lazily grazing. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to just graze on whatever I wanted and not worry about any of it?” I thought about a lot during that hour drive. I thought about healing, emotions, conflict, confusion, and disillusionment. Life brings us a mixed bag of so many different things, doesn’t it? More than all of that I thought about serenity. I wanted to close my eyes and picture a place of serenity, accept I was driving. I’m pretty sure had I closed them things would not have turned out well. But, right now, at 4 am, after my third chocolate donut, I can close …
