Ever wonder why it seems that although we are delivered by Jesus when we are saved so many still are so discontented and struggling? Maybe you have experienced this yourself. You go into church, love the worship, feel that strength and love from God, but then go home and not long afterward it feels like a flood of discontentment just comes right back on in. There is a real good reason for this. Much of the church does not understand that regeneration along with deliverance are an ongoing process through life. (This is not a judgement, just an observation).
When you were saved, your spirit was set free and you are now free from sin and death because of Jesus’ act upon the cross. He has also given to you complete healing and the power of deliverance in His name from that moment on through His sacrifice. Although your spirit is instantly delivered and your life given eternal salvation, your emotions, mind, and soul are still in need of regeneration and therefore also deliverance as well. You still have residue from the life you have lived up until you accepted Christ as your Savior. These are the things that Paul speaks of when he instructed the church to “work out your salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12.) Working out salvation does not refer to doing good works. We are not saved by works but by grace. It refers to regeneration with God through Christ.
“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
You have the power of instant deliverance at the point of salvation but there are things still within you that have yet to be submitted to Christ. Many of them you are not even aware of because they have become subconscious things that work in the background in your life. These are from wounds, generational curses, inappropriate mindset, and soul ties. These are the things your adversary attaches to and causes you to believe his lies instead of being set free in God’s truth.
Some tend to believe that just thinking and speaking positive will do the healing eventually. While it is true that thinking and speaking positive helps, it does not heal our inner wounds nor does it deliver us from the devils attachments to those things. The devil knows exactly where to hit you, to control you, and where to lie to you! Who do you think the generational curses came from? It sure was not God. All lies, manipulation, and things that set you apart from God come from your enemy.
When wounds are discovered and they are submitted to Christ in His light they are exposed and healed. The final step at that point is deliverance from the attachments the devil had on those things by kicking him to the curb in Jesus name. Once he is exposed he is weakened and you have the authority in Christ to knock him out of your life, along with his powers and principalities. He can not get you in places where Jesus’ light now resides!
Once again, deliverance is an ongoing process as regeneration happens in your life, but you have to be willing to do the work with God and to submit yourself and those inner wounds to Jesus for His healing. He WILL heal you. It’s His promise. He has also given you the power to be released from Satan and all of his ploys to control you.
Many of you have made bad choices according to the wounds and soul scars in your life. They have also held you back. Some of you think you have a procrastination problem when in truth the real issue is that the wounds inside you have caused you to feel so rejected and abandoned that you have never truly believed you can succeed at anything. So your attempts are sabotaged by the devil in a very sly sneaky way.
So where do you start?
Submit yourself to Jesus and also your wounds. Ask for revelation regarding the residue left inside of you before salvation. These are the wounds, generational curses, and soul ties. Jesus will show you where they are! He wants you delivered and healed! Once you know, submit those things to Him and allow His Holy Spirit to direct you in deliverance from the devils attachments to those things. Continue to renew your mind by God’s word. Walk in the power and fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Continue to be grateful for all God has given to you, and forgive yourself and others when wrong things have occurred both past and present.
This is the healing and deliverance work I desire to continue to do in my ministry. It is so important. God wants His bride walking free, powerful, and strong. He wants more of His love to become a part of you from the inside out. He wants you to better know Him and to trust Him with the inner workings of your soul. You can do this! We can all do this together! Spiritual gifts are for discerning these things and sometimes it takes more than just yourself to work on them. That is why we have one another!
Ask Jesus to show you the places you need to be healed and then delivered. He will show you! Also, find someone who knows how to walk through this process with you. Deliverance work is very strategic. We are more powerful together. Where two or more are gathered, Jesus’ promise is to be there in our midst!
Know that I am praying for you! Ask for prayer any time. I do provide 30 minute prayer sessions by phone and in my office. Deeper deliverance work is done in person and usually takes at least 2 hours, but it is time well spent!
I pray for God’s Holy Spirit begin to reveal to you all of those hidden places that have not yet been submitted to Him. He really wants to show you and to set you free! Jesus died for this and it’s your inheritance!
In love and freedom,
Pastor Jenine Marie Howry
